If you render the image you can already see that some sort of hair has been applied to our geometry. We will go further and adjust that a bit.
Go into the Hair and Fur Polygon subobject mode and hit Ctrl+A to select all polygons.
Now deselct some of those, leaving the space for a face let's say.
