Hit Ctrl + Shift + S (Save As) and save your file as landscape.png.
Back to 3D Studio Max, create a plane 200 units long, 200 units wide, with 1 lenght/width segment.
Add the Displace modifier and under Image Bitmap press the None button. Select the landscape.png file you saved earlier and click Open.
