Back in the viewport, hit Ctrl+I to invert the selection, thus selecting only the roof polygons.
Repeat the above procedure, but this time set the ID to 2.
Now go to the Material Editor (shortcut: "M") and click on the Standard button (this means the current material is the "Standard" one).
