In this tutorial I will show you the basics of Multi/Sub-Object materials, a feature that allows you to map different materials on a single object.
Let's create an object first, a very simple house. Start with a rectangular Box.
Convert the Box to an Editable Poly or add an Edit Poly modifier. Then Extrude the top polygon using a Height of 0 units.
